Teeth with cracks or fractures and teeth that have had a root canal require a crown or cap.
If a cap is not placed on the tooth soon after a root canal is completed, the tooth is at risk of breaking.
Crowns look just like natural teeth and never have to be removed. Crowns are brushed and
flossed just like natural teeth.
Gaps from missing teeth can be corrected with a bridge. A bridge is just what it sounds
like and it fills the gap or space remaining after a tooth is removed.
A bridge is one unit, but it looks like several separate teeth. The tooth in front of the gap is an anchor tooth for the bridge, the gap will be filled with a false tooth/teeth and behind the gap is the other anchor tooth. A bridge can replace one tooth or several teeth.
